That’s a fantastic thread that shows the 3d work done on Scarlet Witch and Dagger. There’s been a lot of debate about traditional sculpting vs 3d sculpting, a lot of people going on about wanting it done by hand and 3d is fake, blah blah. Basically, the same thing you’ve seen in the camera or video world if you follow those, like I do.
It’s all fairly ridiculous. 3d sculpting is just another skillset, and it won’t completely replace traditional sculpting. It might become more common than it, but if it produces great results, what’s the harm? People will adapt and learn new skills, just like they did in other fields.
At any rate, it’s very impressive work. The Mark Brooks line is shaping up very well, even if I’m a little annoyed they don’t plan on doing the Kitty Pryde statue that was illustrated in his artbook. OH WELL.
