Yamato Black Tinkerbell Fantasy Figure Gallery statue review – NSFW
Posted by: Dr_Teng In: Statues
I’ve always liked the look of Yamato’s Fantasy Figure Gallery statue line but never had the chance to pick one up. When they decided to send me a review sample of Black Tinkerbell, I was pretty jacked! This review is for the PVC version, which features cast-offable clothing. The resin version is painted a little differently, has no removable clothing, and costs more money. The last picture of this review is NSFW, though I feel the rest might not be the best for everyone’s employment either, haha.

Once assembled, I was surprised how large it was. The base and wings take up a surprising amount of space although the figure itself isn’t that large. The assembly was pretty fast but I really had to cram the wings in there to get them flush against the skin! The cast-off clothing is on pretty securely, you might not even notice that you can pop it off. Until you read this review, at any rate!

Comparing the artwork to the statue, I actually prefer the statue. Which is totally rare for me to say! The faces on female statues are often not quite as pretty as the artwork they’re based off of but in this case, the artwork didn’t have the most appealing face while the statue does. That’s the kind of slight inaccuracy I can approve of!

The sculpting on this is superb. The rocky base is more interesting than most due to it’s unique shape and texture. No doubt you can see the different shades of paint running across it, it’s really noticeable in the high-res shots. I’m a little puzzled why they placed the little plaque with the numbering up front. Sure, it was a convenient location for it, but it’s just a teeny bit distracting. I would’ve slapped that sucker on the back or under it like most other statues.

The wings, armor, hair, and weapon all have some wonderful details on them. The wings have a great organic look while the armor pieces and the weapon are clearly built out of sterner stuff. The face, as mentioned, is exactly what I was hoping for, and the rest of the physique lives up to that. I’m hard pressed to find issues with the presentation.

The paint, as you’ve no doubt come to expect from PVC figures, looks great. I’m still not sure how they do the PVC painting process that it consistently comes out so good across so many figures. While some people prefer the shade of the skin on the resin version, I have no issues with the PVC one.
4.5/5. All the issues I had were minor. The plaque placement, which isn’t very noticeable, the difficulty in applying the wings, that’s about it really. It’s a gorgeous figure and if you enjoy this style, it’s very affordable and looks great in a collection. After this one I’m looking even more forward to two of the upcoming ones and I’ll see if I can’t find the statue that got me interested in this line, the Golden Lover one!
