Women of DC Busts Review – Series 1 – Powergirl and Big Barda
Posted by: Dr_Teng In: Statues
Perhaps the two most stacked women in the DC universe, both reviewed at the same time! Another Women of DC busts review – Powergirl and Big Barda, also designed by Adam Hughes.

I gotta say, I love the pose they gave for Powergirl. It shows off her costume well, and it’s about as ridiculous as the character is. Bright, vibrant, and giant breasts, which is pretty accurate to every single issue she’s ever been in. The facial expression is what really nails it, I think she’s the most excited character of any of the statues/figures I own.

Big Barda is wearing a tiny amount of clothing, but yet, manages to come off as less ridiculous than Powergirl. Probably the stern expression on her face. I like the size of her compared to the rest of the busts, she towers over them. Having the rest of her costume on one sleeve is a good way to explain away why she’s wearing barely anything.

The paint applications on these particular two look great. Having looked over them, I didn’t have any problems. If anything, my only complaint about these two is their bases are way less interesting than the rest of the ones I own. A worn down building? Boring. A base that could’ve had an awesome fire-y kind of look from Apokolips? I mean, come on.
These are more obviously pin-ups than the last two that I reviewed. Your friends and/or wife/husband/whatever may make fun of you if you display them instead of say, a giant Juggernaut figure (they’ll probably make fun of you for that too though). They’re really nice busts, and some of the better ones in the series, very much worth it.
4.5/5
Buying Options : These two did pretty well at retail, you’d be hard pressed to find them at most online stores, I haven’t seen them in stock for a while. Ebay is the old standby on this one. Amazon fortunately has both Powergirl and Big Barda in stock.
