The story really hits it’s high notes here. It starts off with a touching one-off comic about death, then heads right back into the storylines that were developing in the first graphic novel. It goes off in some directions I wasn’t expecting, as well as introducing a great new character into the mix.
There’s a lot of thought put into world it’s set in. When you have a world where tons of people have powers, how do you deal with it? Some of the people have powers capable of demolishing a city, how would they live? What about normal crimes, like drug abuse, sexual crimes, even traffic accidents, how would these change if people had super powers? They’re all important questions and it’s great that for the most part they’re addressed with the storylines in the comic.
The second graphic novel did have a bit of a dragging storyline that involved a gladiator section but it doesn’t take up too much time.
4.5/5. It’s a short series, but one that I consider a must-have for my collection.
