Although apparently this is a Diamond Previews exclusive but same result in this case, a third Kotobukiya SDCC Bishoujo exclusive, the diamond form of Emma Frost. Limited to 1500.

Fortunately for Kotobukiya, this is a statue I was planning to buy since I love this line of little statues so far. For those of you on the fence, here’s the full gallery of their Emma Frost Bishoujo statue.

Seems that Kotobukiya’s first concept art image (the one of her on the chair) wasn’t approved by Marvel and they came up with a different design. Fits better with the line, but the chair concept was interesting and I wanted to see how it would’ve looked. Ah well, maybe with another character.

I’m glad Bowen Designs is working on some alternate (in this case, ultimate) versions of characters. I’ve heard that they often aren’t the best sellers, as shown by the Age of Apocalypse busts by DST, but I’m sure a few select characters would do well. There’s been widespread criticism of this statue. The face looks weird as hell. A few members on statueforum were messing around with Photoshop touch-ups of the paint and this one looks the best to me. Here’s the regular human paint on the Bowen Designs Emma Frost/White Queen statue. I don’t think I would’ve went with those colours on the clothing, but nonetheless, it looks better than I thought it would. Not sure which White Queen statue I like the best yet.

During/after SDCC, there were a ton of statue sneak peeks that were posted in various videos and so on but aren’t up on the statue producers’ sites yet. I’ve heard great things about CS Moore statues, both for their style and their paint. This one was created with Diamond Select – the Emma Frost retro statue. There’s also a modern version with less clothing, and a different base. It’s fairly hoed up as is, but whatever you like best.
