Custom Toy Showcase #9 – DC Edition

I usually feature more Marvel custom toys and statues and I find they’re simply more common and in general, better made than most DC customs. This might be because in the past few years, DC has released higher-quality regular action figures than Marvel, this might be because Marvel characters in general are more popular than DC characters (obviously, with some notable exceptions, like the main people in the Justice League), who knows!

I’ll be honest, as goofball as the Return of Superman comic arc was, I didn’t mind it. It was fun to see Cyborg Superman come back during the Sinestro Corps storyline.

This one seems to be lacking something that was fairly prominant in the movie and comic but I suppose it is a little more kid friendly.

One of my favourite villains from the Superman animated series.

Someone could nitpick and say this wasn’t DC but it’s an imprint OWNED by DC so too bad.

Pretty impressed when Hot Toys sends out their newsletter, they always seem to announce a new licence or two that blows me away.

Watchmen, starting with Silk Spectre 2? Goddddamn. If they go ahead and finish off all the main characters with their usual quality, that’s gonna set a lot of people back a lot of money. It’s a much better movie licence for them to be working on then the Wolverine movie, booyeah.

In even BETTER news, this was also mentioned in the newsletter.

Hot Toys … and Pixar? OH MAN. Pixar’s one of my favourite companies of all time, with some of my favourite films of all time…I can’t wait to see what comes of this.
