The Square Enix Formation Arts line has consistently been pretty neat. Not too expensive, lots of variety in both the characters and appearances, I view it as a successful “statues lite”. The first Kingdom Hearts lineup was done a few years ago so it makes sense to release a second one as hype ramps up [...]

While I haven’t played Uncharted 3 yet, this definitely resembles the Nathan Drake from previous Uncharted games. The Play Arts Kai body should work well for this, giving tons of excellent action poses. Available for preorder at Hobby Search and no doubt BBTS/Sideshow shortly, it’s a solid addition to their gaming figures lineup.

One of Square-Enix’s most vibrant Formation Arts sets to date, this one focuses on Mickey Mouse in his different incarnations. Should be up for preorder in a couple days at whatever import sites you use!

Square-Enix’s Metal Gear Play Arts line is doing a pretty heavy push towards some of the earlier Metal Gear characters and Meryl here is a great choice. This is an early prototype that’s going to go through some changes, you can expect a lot of improvement!

Finally diving into a review of the Square Enix Play Arts Kai line after they sent me two review samples, Kaz (Master) Miller and Snake! Snake’s review will come later. For those not familiar, the Play Arts Kai line of figures is Square’s high end action figure line. They’re around 10 inches tall, pretty huge [...]

One of the most visually interesting characters in the Metal Gear series, Cyborg Ninja, has never had a figure that I thought was awesome enough to purchase. Square Enix seems to want to change that by releasing sneaks of their upcoming addition to their Play-Arts Kai line. More images under the cut!

As you can see from these head prototypes, seems Square Enix is planning on releasing at least another two figures to the Metal Gear Play Arts Kai line, specifically, soldiers from Peace Walker.
Each figure comes in at around $75 with multiple points of articulation. Apparently there are going to be 8 in total though I’ve only been able to find pictures of 5. Check whatever import store you frequent or if you wait long enough, the Final Fantasy creatures usually show up in some domestic stores.

Square-Enix is making a fairly impressive push into statues and figures lately and this, their Cloud Final Fantasy Static Arts statue is no exception. There was a companion Sephiroth statue made around the same time as this as well. Is this an actual worthwhile Final Fantasy 7 statue? Read on to find out.

The Square Enix Play Arts Kai line has been coming along nicely with another sneak peek recently at a major character. Here’s the vehicle boss of Peace Walker, Cocoon. Up for order at most import shops and BBTS for just under $200. It’s QUITE large so I’d certainly say it’s worth the money.
