Revoltech’s Woody Toy Story figure re-release missing a vital element – The comedy face!

It was known a few months ago that Revoltech was going to be re-releasing their super popular Woody figure from Toy Story. Most people assumed it would be the exact same figure with the same accessories, including the well known “Hentai Woody”, which led to tons of hilarious pictures. Disney probably wasn’t the biggest fan of one of their characters doing unspeakable acts towards dozens of other figures and requested it be replaced. While the new face is more Woody accurate, it looks a hell of a lot less fun! Woody now comes with one of the alien guys as well. Here’s my review of the original Woody + Buzz Lightyear figures.

Revoltech releasing perhaps the best Edward Elric figure yet

There have been a good few Edward Elric figures from Full Metal Alchemist but most have been subpar, especially compared to the merchandise of his brother, Al. Revoltech is looking to turn that around with a fantastic look Edward Elric figure, hopefully soon to be followed by an Al as well! Pre-order info will be available soon at whatever import shops you frequent, I’ll update the post when they’re available.

Just like Hot Toys, Revoltech keeps improving their Iron Man figures with each new release! The Mark III features light-up features as well as improved articulation over previous releases. That, and some great promo shots.

Considering how many Iron Man figures they’ve released, I wonder if they’ll follow the Revoltech route and do a larger Mark I/Iron Monger?

Revoltech’s first two Pixar figures up for pre-order – Nemo and Wall-e

Both surprisingly affordable at under $26 + shipping. Nemo and Wall-e definitely have less accessories than you’d expect out of recent Revoltech figures, but they’re so different from their usual offerings that I’m really interested to see if they’re worth it. Both of them look dead-on to the movie characters but … is it worth getting an action figure of a fish? Tough to say!

Revoltech releasing more Pixar figures finally!

Seems like Revoltech isn’t nearly done with the Pixar line yet with a number of releases and re-releases lined up. Some of the choices are a bit strange to say the least but I’ll wait for full reveals before judging them too harshly. We’ve got Wall-E and Nemo coming in December, Lightning McQueen in January, and Mr. Incredible coming in February. Woody (the one that became famous across the internet!) and Sully are being re-released later in 2012.

Revoltech finally places their Zone of Ender figures up for pre-order

People have been clamoring for quality Zone of Enders merchandise for ages, Revoltech put their prototypes up forever ago and finally, you’ve got your chance to pre-order. I never particularly enjoyed Zone of Enders but I’ll give it props on some fantastic mech design, almost enough to convince me to order!

I’ll be passing on this one since I prefer the classic cartoon versions but I have to admit, I’m very impressed by the detail work on this, especially at this scale! Available for preorder at Hobby Search for $32.

I’ve gotta say, I was hoping this would be a little larger. Revoltech does make small scale stuff but the Alien Queen was a surprisingly good size. As you can see, it’s a fair bit smaller than their regular female figures. While my enthusiasm is down a little, it still looks pretty cool. There’s a trade-off here, you get two figures for a reasonable price however you don’t get nearly the amount of accessories most people are used to from Revoltech releases. $35 gets you both at Hobby Search. While I think Sully could’ve been better, Mike looks great.

Finally, some news on the Revoltech Jurassic Park T-Rex, I almost thought it was canceled! As a bonus, here’s the Monster’s Inc Mike and Sully. Not sold on the Sully yet due to those proportions but Mike is looking great. Potentially a good follow-up to the Woody shenanigans of last year!
