Unfortunately due to some NYCC scheduling shenanigans I didn’t get to see this in person but I’m really hoping to check it out at their offices at some point!

Coming in at $650, this enormous M-8 Avenger Assault Rifle prop replica looks pretty badass. If you’re a Mass Effect fan, this is THE gun to get. Though at 20 pounds, it might be a bit heavy if you want to use it as part of a costume, haha. Check out the full gallery over here.

Project Triforce working on some Gears of War props + a Mass Effect prop

I’ve been talking to one of the guys at Project Triforce lately, they seem to be coming up with some pretty cool videogame themed props. I’ll be checking them out in person at NYCC so I’ll see just how good they are! So check out some shots of their Gears of War 3 Snub Pistol and the Locust equivalent, as well as the M8 from Mass Effect.

I’m sure almost all the companies are saving some of their heavy hitters for SDCC so I figured you guys would like a look at a custom Tron Identity disc I finished up lately. It was created using the toy as a base (toy is on the right) and a custom lighting kit from RPF along with some heavy modification, which resulted in more accurate colour, significant brightness increase, and it always being on instead of in bursts like the toy. Now I just need to order some EL tape and get to work on making one of the costumes!

I’ll post more detailed pictures when I finish the second improved disc.

T-800 CPU prop replica from HCG

One of the more popular Terminator prop replicas I’ve seen from custom forums, HCG is stepping up and releasing their own legit T-800 CPU. Limited to 400 with a surprisingly affordable price of $170, you can preorder it here. The light-up features are nice though I do wish it said T-800 CPU instead of BRAIN CHIP, that seems like an awkward term. Still, looks great when it’s lit up!

As subpar as the movies may have been, I’d still say this makes a pretty cool addition to any Resident Evil fan’s collection. They’ll be coming in at $200, here’s the press blurb from HCG :

Since they’re staging it somewhat soon after their Star Trek auction, I anticipate a major reduction in the extra income of fellow nerdy fellows.
