Astonishing X-Men Volume 1 Hardcover for $25.64 I’m a fan of Joss Whedon and some of his TV shows, but never did I think to myself, you know what would make a good X-Men series? Joss Whedon writing it. Imagine my surprise when it turned out he wrote a perfectly solid X-Men story.

Not only was I impressed when Bowen Designs decided to scrap their existing design based on community critique, but I’m even more impressed that they belted out the new Blob bust in what, a week or two? Huge improvement here.

This is a bit of an interesting switch. Bowen Designs has been moving towards larger busts with arms, but it seems for this Planet Hulk that they’re skipping the arms and going with a more Phase 1 look (though with a modern size).
