Kotobukyia has kept this model kit line going strong, both with Mega Man releases and Fate/Stay Night ones, like this new Saber Lily. The Saber designs are pretty cute as well, allowing for a lot of fun poses. I’m hoping the line is selling well enough that it’ll get Mega Man villains and more Saber releases but we’ll see! Hobbystock has received the retail version of the Kotobukiya Storm Bishoujo statue and took a ton of detailed shots, roughly 1/4th of which are high-res shots of her butt. I’m tossing up a few shots and since they put so much effort into the butt ones, one of those too. There have been a few complaints voiced about this one but I like it and I’ll definitely be picking it up! Pre-order still available at BBTS for $53.99.

No doubt the first of many Avengers related Bishoujo releases for Kotobukiya this year, here’s their second Black Widow Bishoujo statue. I’m really liking the base and pose, as well as most of the sculpt, but the face could stand to be improved.

Definitely one of the most popular Kotobukiya statues to date and one of my favourite Batman statues ever released (possibly the favourite!) Kotobukiya is releasing a black variant to go with the long sold out blue mode. I don’t have preorder details yet but I’ll update this post when I do. The previous one was made of vinyl and stood at just under 12 inches high.

Now this is interesting. I saw a preview of this but didn’t post it since I wasn’t aware what exactly it was going to be. Kotobukiya is releasing an Elvis Presley’68 Comeback Special 1/6th Scale ARTFX Figure. It says it’s part of the ArtFX line, which is traditionally statues, but as you can see from the pictures, it can go into quite a variety of poses! It looks like a quality 1/6th scale figure. They’re working with Enterbay on this project but I wonder if this means Kotobukiya is interested in getting into 1/6th figures?

Kotobukiya Supergirl Bishoujo statue review

I reviewed the Evil Supergirl Bishoujo a while ago and it’s time to look at her regular version, the classic Supergirl look!

The two statues are obviously quite similar in pose and accessories. It’s primarily a repaint, although the hands are posed differently in the regular/evil versions. So the same praise and critiques that apply to the Evil Supergirl apply fairly well here.

I find that the blue paint scheme made the molding lines less obvious to see, definite plus. It’s a more subtle look, especially on the face, but the whole thing has less contrast than a black/silver paint scheme. Except on the hair, where the different colour made the mold line a little more obvious.

The paint is up to the usual Kotobukiya Bishoujo standards, which is to say, good work all around. Fine detail work, nice metallic highlights, Streaky is fine as well. I’d certainly like to go into more detail but the rest is all covered in the Evil Supergirl review! The problem with reviewing variants I suppose. I still enjoy the sculpting quite a bit, the paint and pose are solid, and still wish that Streaky could be seamlessly removed.

4/5. One of the best Supergirl statues and it sells for very reasonable prices online.
