I didn’t bother taking too many shots of this one, not because it doesn’t look good, but because the back area of the sculpture is very simple. This is one of my favourite statues, not due to it’s impressive size or anything (only 8 or 9 inches tall), but how well they nailed the character. I can’t think of a better sculpt or pose for Skull Kid. I haven’t played the game recently and I haven’t looked at references, but it feels exactly how I felt Skull Kid should look in statue form.

The colours are really vibrant where they should be, and quite muted in other areas. The base is top notch and since Skull Kid is seen on a tree trunk in the game, it works perfectly. The paint, at least on mine, is pretty much flawless.

I guess the only thing that could’ve improved this statue was if you could remove the Skull Kid mask. But that’s something more up a company like Sideshow’s alley, and it’d cost a whole lot more, without adding too much to the whole presentation. On a sidenote, F4F was planning to release a regular Link statue that some of you may have seen previously. I thought the face on it looked like garbage, and it was an easy pass for me. They just redid the face and uploaded new photos, happy to say I’m totally getting it now. Despite their constant delays, when these guys nail a statue, I’m usually quite impressed.
