ThreeA/3a is finally ready to murder my wallet beyond recognition, their Metal Gear Rex figure is up for sale in January. Full details and pricing aren’t announced yet but considering the size of this thing? It won’t be cheap. Coming in at nearly a foot and a half, this is going to be a beast of a collectible. These are images of the unpainted prototype, final images soon!

I find the timing interesting since it’s a mere few days after the Metal Gear Rex is coming soon announcement. If this means it’s not an enormous pain in the ass to pre-order Metal Gear Rex, one of the most iconic videogame vehicles of all time, then I’m all for it!

Well this has certainly been a long time in the works without an update. The 3A Metal Gear Rex, that giant upcoming statue of one of the best looking giant mechs in all of gaming (do a search of Metal Gear Rex on the site to find previous pictures) has FINALLY gotten an update. So glad to see it still being worked on!

It’s not much, but since this is one of my most anticipated collectibles coming this year, even though it’ll probably be a grand, I figured it’d be worth posting whatever info gets revealed. This is direct from Ashley Wood on the 3a boards.

“rex has many small part, as he is fully articulated. Infact i would say he has more part than most toys, all ABS~”

“we can make anything, detail is easy, small bit are no hassle, it depends on the design.”

”Rex is ____ off amazing, no one can match it, same with Ray. MGS fans will appreciate it, they know my heritage with MGS, I deal directly with Shinkawa san on this stuff!”

Ashley Wood and 3a Get 2000AD Licence – Judge Dredd!

Fans of 2000 AD everywhere get set to rejoice, as 3A Toys are proud to announce their licensing agreement with Rebellion for a range of brand new 2000 AD action figures. Many characters from the pages of the galaxy’s greatest comic, from Judge Dredd to the A.B.C. Warriors and beyond are set to be made as 1/6th scale, fully-articulated works of art.

Ashley Wood, CEO 3A Toys said “2000 AD and the worlds within its pages was inspirational in igniting the dream of becoming a comic artist for me, which lead to my first professional comic job, illustrating a Dredd Story for the Megazine. It feels very gratifying and exciting to revisit this universe now with toys.”

Jason Kingsley, COE of the Rebellion Group, home of 2000 AD said: “We’re really looking forward to seeing what Ashley’s company comes up with. I need more high quality action figures for my office.”
