Franky Portrait of Pirates Statue Review

Posted by: Dr_Teng In: Statues

Time to review what may well be my favourite Portrait of Pirates figure, Franky!

Megahouse Portrait of Pirates Franky Figure

This guy is utterly ridiculous, both in the series, and in his physical appearance. He’s a ton of fun there, and not surprisingly, his figure has so many neat little things you can do with it. His paintjob is spot on, just perfect compared to his look in the series, same with the sculpt. He’s just as huge as in the show (scale is off on some figures but whatever)

His list of accessories includes : two bottles, a chain to go around them, a removable hand with a gunarm underneath (gunarm is a little disappointing) and an arm that can come off, since he can launch his fist forwards. Keep in mind, the figure doesn’t launch anything, but it comes off to simulate that. Oh, and his sunglasses, which reveal slightly crazy eyes beneath them.

As for his backside, just like you’d expect from Franky, he’s revealing a little too much. It made me laugh when I saw that, because that’s totally in character for him. The base is enormous, and for some reason, not transparent like all the rest of the bases from the series. It stands out a bit, but it’s fine.

This guy is pretty much exclusively for One Piece fans. Some of the other figures might appeal to people because they have cool designs and they’re not too expensive, but I can’t see many people thinking, that hairy dude with the speedo, I must have him in my collection. I MUST HAVE HIM. Superbly well done, not too expensive, lovin’ it!

5/5

Buying Options : He’s been reprinted once, you might still be able to find him at a few import stores. Sold out at HLJ though. You know the drill if you can’t find it otherwise
