I’ve probably complained about it before, but I think random box toys are stupid. You end up paying way more money than you want to, and for the most part, the figures aren’t great. There’s no “fun” in the discovery of the 5th regular figure in a row that you already own. Straight up, it’s screwing the consumer and since there’s little trading done, it just results in more trash for the dumpster. It kinda sucks ass!
Anywho, this is a set of 19 One Piece Fuyujima characters in random boxed form. 18 of them are normal, and 1 is a chase figure. From opening the boxes, I’m not sure you have any less of a chance of getting the chase figure than the regular figures, he’s just not displayed on the side of the box. I suppose that’s one minor plus.

The boxes are about Kubrick-figure sized, so you can get an idea of how big the figures are. The bases are standard, nothing special, and the figures themselves are well made for little random box figures. The paintjobs on them are standard. I didn’t have any real paint drips or problems on mine. For $2-$5 figures (depending if you buy them boxed or individually on ebay/forums), you really can’t expect much. That said, I was happy to get a complete set out of 2 boxes, and I do think it was worth the money.
The arc itself was a lot of fun, and there’s a ton of variety in the little figures. One Piece in particular has an absurd amount of outfits for almost every character, to the point where it’s completely impractical to assume you could get a good variety in statue form. The Portrait of Pirate statues are wonderful and cover the best, and these little random box figures (and a few slightly larger versions) help fill in the gaps. Besides, there’s a LOT of figures here that I’m more than happy to pay, say $5 for, but wouldn’t want in a larger and more expensive format. I’ve got to give the creator some praise, every new story arc almost always results in new outfits for the new characters, which leads to tons of new toys, and new $$$profit$$$.
For what they are, I’m going to give them a 4/5. They look nice and they’re fairly cheap, even with the garbage random boxing.
They’re still available at HLJ for now, right here.
