Mezco Mez-Itz Hellboy and Abe Toy Review

Posted by: Dr_Teng In: Toys

I just love doofy looking things. It’s the reason I enjoy Mighty Muggs, designer toys, and why I have two wiener dogs. With Mighty Muggs having a non-existent release schedule, I was totally in the mood for a replacement mass market cutesy representation of pop-culture characters. Mezco to the rescue!

I heard these would be SDCC exclusives so imagine my surprise when I ran into them in Toys R Us. Picked these bad boys up, struggled with the stupid packaging, here we are. Unlike Mighty Muggs, you can move the legs on these, as well as angle the head up and down. This wider range of motion allows for a little more creativity in posing.

Abe doesn’t come with an accessory and his goggles can’t come off. Slightly disappointing. Hellboy comes with his gun. The paint on these looks good and the style works for me. The leg movement is a little tricky. You’ll find they can get off-balance very easily.

3.5/5. Affordable, solid style, good way to start a toy line. I don’t expect many accessories from designer toys but one per toy would’ve been nice. From their website, seems they’re putting out more releases, good stuff.

Cool lookin’ dudes!

Love Daschunds. Wiry haired ones are especially cute. Well…all of them are actually. What about more back probs with them Dr than with other dogs?

I’m only a little concerned about the back problems, I’ve heard the same thing, but neither of my dogs seem to be suffering from that yet. Worst case I figure I carry them around everywhere, which I wouldn’t mind!
