I should mention, these two Megahouse Portrait of Pirates statues aren’t available together, they were only available on their own. The character Chopper is a fan favourite and has roughly 4000 pieces of merchandise available, not only being sold with a previous statue (Usopp), but there were these 2, and one or two more statues with him on his own. I figured these two and the previous one was more than enough of this little fella for me.
One of these is Chopper in a fairly regular outfit with a rather excited look on his face, the other is Chopper in a pseudo-Superman outfit where he’s referred to as Super Chopper, though I can’t ever remember him dressing this way in the series.
I have no clue what’s going on with the scale here, since they’re both the same character. Super Chopper is a small chubby fat head who has a nicer hat than the other Chopper, who seems more accurate. I’m willing to accept that as a style choice though, since the chubby one looks more cute than the regular one.
Both are fairly simple designs and poses and the paint is solid on each. The only complaint is that the taller Chopper’s hat, while being more detailed, comes off as more “rough” due to imperfections.
3.5/5. I was going to give them a 4, but that’s a value rating as well in this case. If you’re going to make a bunch of Chopper figures, and there’s more than the ones I own, why not do his alternate forms that’ve been featured in the series multiple times? At least those would be more unique.
