Boa Hancock here is by far the fastest figure to go from having one Portrait of Pirates release to another (the bikini one) already on the way, so you can tell she’s popular. This figure was the first One Piece figure to feature nudity, a dubious honour at best, which seems to have caught on with Megahouse.

From that second photo, you can notice the seams. They’re not THAT bad but the reason they exist is because you can switch out her arms, as you’ll see in later photos. She also features a switch-out face with a different facial expression. The only puzzling thing about the secondary blushing facial expression is that it doesn’t really fit the statue. With her pose being that of an elegant walk…it’s a little bizarre.
The paint is all very nice, I had no issues with it. No paint drips, though there isn’t much detail, what is there is nicely done. The metallic sheen of the dress is eye-catching. You can see a cape in some of these shots. While it’s nice, I imagine most people will be displaying her without it.
Now on to that nudity. Megahouse previously had zero naked One Piece statues. At best, you could see some panties. In the next picture, you’ll see they painted Boa’s tattoo on her back, which is not accessible normally. You have to remove her head and stretch her jacket (it’s made of a soft material and has some give). In the picture after that, you’ll see (or won’t because I censored it) that she has painted nipples.
Now, this strikes me as a bizarre decision! You have to almost damage the jacket to see her breasts, that clasp doesn’t come off. Even if you do disrobe her, her arms are cleared clothed with the jacket. You’d have her as some weird sleeve-jacket wearing person, it makes no sense. But if they didn’t intend for you to see the tattoo/breasts…why paint it? It’s like borderline appealing to the pervs but not really. However, soon after this they released the bikini figures and the Strong World Nami that can go topless as well, so I guess that’s their new market?
4.5/5. Bizarre decisions aside, it’s a very nice figure that represents Boa Hancock quite well. It’s well sculpted, well painted, and has a solid pose. If you like her, pick it up, because none of the other figures of her look this good or are anywhere near this quality.
