Marvel Zombies 3 for $13.59 currently at Amazon
This takes place about a year after the events of Marvel Zombies 1. An alternate universe intersects with the Zombie universe in some pseudo-science mumbo jumbo, basically it connects the two universes and some Zombies get into the alternate universe. A SHIELD-like squad is set up to destroy the Zombies.
They end up sending Machine Man and Jocasta into the Zombie universe. The writing gets pretty damn cheeseball at points (mainly with Machine Man), but aside from that, it’s well done. There’s some non-main characters left over in the original Zombie universe, mainly Kingpin, and there’s an absurd amount of action. The story makes it’s way back to the non-infected universe and the events surrounding Morbius are pretty cool.
It almost felt like they were done with the Marvel Zombie stuff after this set of comics, but nope, there’s another volume and a new spinoff. Oh Marvel!
I wasn’t familiar with Machine Man or Jocasta prior to this trade so that was refreshing. I certainly have to give props to Marvel for featuring a variety of their side characters when they do spinoffs like these.
3.5/5. All in all, almost as good as the first Marvel Zombies, better than the second.
