I received this Static Arts Sora statue a few months ago, and I totally overpaid for it due to customs charges. Let’s start this off with an image of the front.

First thing I noticed when I popped this out of the packaging was how light it is. I don’t have many anime statues and most of them are fairly light, but given the size of this one, it’s ridiculously light. They all seem to be made from PVC so I’m not sure what the difference is. The next thing I noticed was how vibrant the statue is. The base is pretty much perfect, colourful, and it matches the rest of the statue really well.
The sculpting is solid from all angles. It looks just like Sora, from the face to the ridiculous clothing. The paint is well done over the majority of the statue, but there are a few small inconsistencies. The pose couldn’t be better in my mind. It’s a quality action pose and looks good on display, as well as in pictures.
For a PVC statue, it’s overpriced. It weighs in at $100+ with shipping on top of that. Of course, considering the latest line of Kingdom Hearts action figures somehow skyrocketed up from $20 a pop to $30-$40, the statue practically seems like a bargain.

All in all, a really solid statue. I gotta say, I like the character Sora, even if Square-Enix is determined to appeal to the fangirls by making his friendships as flaming as possible. It’s the best version of Sora available, and I’d say the best Kingdom Hearts merchandise you can get. The next Static Arts statue is a tremendously boring looking Riku, so I doubt you’ll get any other nice Kingdom Hearts statues this year.
Buying Options : This Sora statue is available through Amazon.com third party sellers for a somewhat reasonable price.
