Kidrobot Futurama Mini-Figures Review

Posted by: Dr_Teng In: Toys

A few weeks back, Kidrobot released their set of random boxed Futurama mini-figures. A friend of mine purchased a whole box of them for my wife and I, here’s my thoughts.

Kidrobot Futurama Mini-Figures

No reason to go into my usual blabbering on why I hate random boxed figures, so I’ll at least thank Kidrobot for making the chase figures ones that I have no interest in, Sal and the Robot Devil. I guess Slurms is a chase too but he’s supposed to be easy to get.

There’s 12 total characters in the set. Robot Devil is at a whopping 1/96 so uh, hope you fans of him like blowing obscene wads of dough on a little 3 inch high guy. The rest of the selection is pretty nice. You’ve got your essential Zapp Brannigan and you know, some other guys. Each of them comes with a little accessory, some of which I’ve included in the two pictures. Bender’s little hatch opens as well!

There’s obviously some minor casting/paint problems here, but they’re not something you’d really notice. They’re a mass market designer toy, you know what you’re getting. For the most part, they’re very well done and the little accessories are surprisingly top notch. All of the figures I have look fantastic with the exception of Leela and Nibbler, they could’ve looked better.

One little issue with the set is it doesn’t have all the essential characters. Where’s the Farnsworth at? Futurama deserves a second set and they better get it or it’ll really seem incomplete.

4/5. Some minor issues aside, they’re a great and stylish representation of Futurama.

Buying Options : Just stick with Ebay. Random boxed figures are a pain in the ass but all the commons are cheap as hell there.
