Saw this over on the the Hive. Seems a fair few people aren’t happy with how accurate the HCG bust is and at least one person paid to have theirs fixed up to have more of a movie look to it. Before and after pictures under the cut. Quite an ambitious project, I think they’ve improved it and made it look more vicious.

LOVE those Aliens!! Have some McFarlane 12 inch Aliens and Preds plus a couple of SS. Really hoping to get the SS PredAlien Maquette sometime. I mean the concept Maquette….the wench would try to skin me alive if I bought the $850 Maquette…..I’d feel safer with the REAL PredAlien …

It’s a pretty big site for Alien enthusiasts, I don’t post there myself, but I’ve seen some of the projects that’ve come from the site. Impressive stuff.
No matter how cool I think the Predalien looks, I couldn’t justify $850 or more for a product from that crappy movie even if I were a millionaire. I might get the Hot Toys one though.
Not sure what HCG was thinking with some of their choices on this bust, ah well.

I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that I don’t even remember the Predalien in the movie but on the other hand I only watched the first third of it cause either dozed off or puttered in the workshop. I do remember being VERY bored. I really had high interest in the flick and even more so cause parts of it were shot downtown here (Pt. Coq., BC).
So with me I guess don’t care so much about the figure/statue being part of a movie; it is nice if it is though. (Another one comes to mind, Darth Talon – don’t remember her at all in SW.)
In a way I feel this is probably not so good in that my collection is really a hodgepodge tho must admit makes for some startling transitions when strolling by the display shelves. Hmm….that’s prob not so good either. LOL

Darth Talon wasn’t in Star Wars really, she was an expanded universe character. She just happens to be hot and I’m thinking Sideshow knows their Star Wars fans want some females like their Marvel fans already have.
