This was a master score right here. I was on Ebay and I saw this pop up for a great price because there’s no way I would’ve paid the going rate for it. I’ve justified a lot of dumb purchases, but $300 for a 12″ figure would’ve been pushing it. Anywho, Hot Toys Resident Evil 4 Leon review time!
This is easily one of my favourite games of all time, and I was so happy when I found out Hot Toys had made figures of these. I believe these were the first figures Hot Toys made in their Video Game Masterpiece line. The box is fantastic and fits the mood of the game, so great first impression there.
Once I cracked this open, I was just blown away. It comes with SO MANY ACCESSORIES. I should’ve taken a picture of all of them, because I’m going off memory here. There’s 4 or 6 pistols, a rifle, a shotgun, a machine gun pistol thing, a grenade, 2 knives, maybe a few other things. Plus it comes with a bunch of ammo pounches and best of all, a typewriter. As shown here!
The RPD Leon comes with a different accessory or two, and a different set of clothing, but unfortunately I haven’t found a great deal on that one yet. I was amazed at the attention to detail on the clothing here, it’s fantastic.
One problem I have with the Hot Toys body, although maybe this is a problem with all 12″ figures, is I can’t make them do ridiculous poses with their arms above their heads. I bet I just need more practice. That said, taking these photos was a lot more fun than I thought. The amount of accessories and poses, especially for an action character, was just perfect. At some point I did accidently knock his oversized zipper off and I couldn’t get it back on, so that was a little crappy.
5/5. This is seriously one of the best purchases I’ve made in my collecting days. If you’re a fan of the game, wait for a good deal or save up, because this guy is pretty much perfect. The only tough choice to make is whether to get the RPD Leon, or the Resident Evil 4 Leon!
