Hot Toys reveals their full Loki gallery – Fully updated in his Avengers outfit!

Just like Hot Toys promised, they’re premiering their Loki figure in full Avengers gear instead of the Thor movie gear they initially previewed him in. They’ve done a great job on the likeness and went all out on the accessories. Should be up for pre-order at BBTS and Sideshow later today, this post will be updated when that happens. Right now he’s soliciting opinions on whether to go with the shiny look or the more matte leather look, shiny seems to be winning. I’d like to see some larger images, especially of the face, but so far this is a massive improvement over the previous Bowen Designs Scarlet Witch (which I reviewed a while back).

The latest in Kotobukiya’s 1/10th scale Star Wars ArtFX+ line, a Boba Fett statue from Return of the Jedi! Comes with a switch-out weapon. I rather like the pose, seems like something right out of the battle on Jabba’s barge.

Canon SLR deal for all my visitors that want to get into photography (or upgrade their SLR)

Following the steps correctly gets you a Canon T3 SLR kit + 4 lenses for $825, no rebates. Reselling the extra lenses should easily knock your T3 price down to $300~, or you can get the T3i for a couple hundred more and have a really fantastic SLR. Since it’s a bit of text, I’ll put it under a cut, but it’s all through Amazon.com and really simple to follow!

The short version is there are a bunch of stacking discounts right now and with a bit of work, you can get a super cheap Canon T3 SLR. These come up every 6-12 months and have worked well every time!

Once you add all of them to your cart and get to the final step of checkout, there should be some huge discounts applied, knocking the total down to $825. Make sure ALL items are through Amazon.com and not a third party seller, which may require you to go to more buying options on the right sidebar and select Amazon.com. Sometimes a third party seller will sell for a buck or two less, which will screw up the process.

You can either make yourself an easy $100-$200 after Ebay fees, or the more conventional use, selling the lenses and keeping the body so you get a reasonably priced SLR (the T3i might be better for that though). It seems like more work than it is, I did something similar when I bought my 60D and I sold everything in 1-2 weeks with little effort.

If you really want to go the extra reselling mile or want a killer printer :

Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Inkjet Photo Printer – The $400 rebate deal on that printer with purchase of a SLR is still active. Sells for about $200~ on Craigslist and it’s also one of the best photo printers on the market, it’s the one I use for prints.

Yamato’s Kneesocks up for pre-order along with a full preview gallery

One of the more interesting statues previewed from Japan from the last 6 months, Yamato’s Kneesocks (from the show Panty and Stocking) is finally up for pre-order. Coming in at $125, it’s a little more expensive (and a little larger!) than most anime statues. But it does have an interesting pose and style, particularly for fans of the show. DC Collectibles new solicitations for August 2012

In a slightly more exciting month for DC Collectibles, August solicitations include a rather nice Wonder Woman New 52 bust, a Museum 1/4 Batman statue that has similarities to their existing one (might be the same sculpt + new base for all I know, I’d need more shots to compare), and a Joker Black and White statue inspired by the art of Brian Bolland.
