I remember seeing the DC Direct Catwoman Cover Girls of DC statue in person when it was previewed at New York Comic Con and it looked great then, but it was in a display case and you can never quite tell what it’ll look like in person…until my review, that is!
DC has done an incredible job of replicating Adam Hughes’ art with this one. Far better than Sideshow’s Marvel line. Catwoman is very sexy here without being overly tarted up. Her pose is just fantastic. I don’t imagine I could think of a better museum style Catwoman pose than this one.
The sculpting is top notch. The face is one of the nicest of any female statue that I’ve seen, her costume, simple though it may be, looks exactly as it should. The details on the whip and the fabric are superb. Having the whip as a makeshift tail is a clever touch.
Paint is just as wonderful. Great details on the eyes, skintone is spot on, glasses look good, and the costume has exactly the right amount of shine to it. I can safely say this is one of my favourite statues to date. Between this and the Women of DC bust, I can’t imagine needing another Catwoman statue in this costume, unless it were 1/4th scale.
