Custom Statue Showcase #14 – Chrome Edition

Posted by: Dr_Teng In: Features

You may not be aware of it, but you can get statues custom chromed online. You can also repaint your own statues to have a faux-chrome appearance. It’s a fairly popular thing to do and sometimes makes a dramatic difference. These were fantastic examples from a thread on Statue Forum.

…and I remember reading on StatueMarvels, I think it was, that some phone around locally and get a price on chroming Silver Surfer (or at least to try doing that). It ends up being less expensive than buying the chromed version and possibly more convenient than going online (but not sure about that).

W can do lots of touch ups and our own painting too to save dough and even improve the factory paint job.

I’ll check that site out, thanks. While I’m not familiar with how much it costs to chrome exactly, the impression I received from a few threads was around $100-$150 for most normal sized statues, which seems quite affordable compared to say, the $800~ the museum chromed surfer goes for. I’m tempted to do it in the future when I have some extra money kicking around.
