Bowen Designs Captain America Classic Statue Review

One of the top Bowen pieces I’ve seen, this week I’m taking a look at the Bowen Captain America Classic statue.

I’ve wanted this particular statue for a while. Bowen’s made a few separate Captain America statues, but I like this one the best, by far. His older one just doesn’t feel quite as impressive, and his upcoming metallic one seems odd, since I can’t remember Cap’s suit being metallic. There’s a variant of this one with the more triangular shield, it’s alright but I don’t like that look. This is the most iconic Cap to me.

He comes with two separate bases. The default one with the eagle, and the giant additional base with the stars. I’m assuming that was included so he could tower over some of the taller Avengers if you’ve got a team display going. Both look nice, and you can’t go wrong with either one.

Looking at the sculpt, it’s got a great sense of power. His pose is a straight up museum style, and it works very well. About the only issue I have with it is he looks so stern. I kind of wish he had more of a heroic thing going on. It’s an issue that plagues a lot of Superman statues as well, they both come off as so harsh.

Absolutely zero problems with the paint on mine. The shading is great, the paint on the base, the shield, and the body itself all stand out so well from each other.

4.5/5. The face is the only thing that stops it from being a 5, and that’s a minor issue. I’ve had the Sideshow Cap PF before, and while it’s more impressive in presence, I prefer this one.

Buying Options : Long sold out at retail. Off to Ebay you go. Last I checked, Amazon 3rd party sellers also had it in stock.
